FAQ's

Why No Protein?

This is the question I hear most. The biggest reason is that protein can be difficult to digest and causes stomach issues with a lot of people when consumed at race pace. It can also be hard to choke down and you won't hydrate properly if you can't drink something during a race. That being said, CarboRocket does contain 1,000 mg of l-Glutamine per serving which is one of the most important components of protein and one of the main reasons you would want protein in a sports drink to begin with. The benefit of protein without the drawbacks.

How should I use CarboRocket?

I like to use 2 scoops in a small (20 oz.) water bottle and 3 scoops in a large (24 oz.) water bottle. I drink about 1 water bottle per hour of exercise. Sometimes I will drink a bottle one hour before a race as well to make sure my body is hydrated and has the electrolytes and minerals necessary to keep from bonking and cramping.

Why does CarboRocket taste so good compared to other sports drinks?

We use the very best most expensive natural flavorings available. No other drink goes down as smoothly and easily as CarboRocket. After hours of racing or training you still want to drink it and that makes all the difference in the world.

Why is the 2:1 ratio important?

New research indicates that a 2:1 ratio of Maltodextrin to Fructose provides the most sustained energy during extended periods of exercise. No other stand-alone carbohydrate source or combination of sources provides longer lasting fuel for your endeavors.

What's with the exotic flavors?

Nobody does mango, kiwilime, raspberry lemonade, lemonlime or tropical orange like CarboRocket. We've mixed up a zillion different flavors (ok, maybe a hundred) and combinations of flavors and, while they have all been good, these flavors stood out as the best.

How do I keep it from clumping up in my water bottle?

The complex carbohydrate source, maltodextrin, has a tendency to clump, especially in cold water. The simple fix is to add it to a dry water bottle and swirl the bottle as you add water and it mixes up great. If your bottle already has water in it just pour in the mix slowly as you swirl the bottle. Problem solved.

What Do You Know About Sports Nutrition?

While I don't have a degree in nutrition I do have a couple decades of racing, training and diet and nutrition study under my belt. I know whats worked and what hasn't for me. I also knew there was a lot of room for improvement over what's currently available. Luckily, I have several nutritionists and nutritional labs that I work with that have decades of experience and know-how. I bring real world experience to the lab. Just because something looks good on paper or has had good results in research testing doesn't mean it works in the real world of athletes.
